Ratchet hubs

Our Woven hubs have always offered great bang for your buck - they're relatively light, very durable, use great bearings, and are easy to service. We've updated and refined them many times over the last 15 years, but we're making a pretty big change for 2026 - we're switching from pawl-based engagement to a star ratchet system. This makes our hubs even stronger and more durable than before.

We're using large ratchet rings to spread drive forces over a big surface area, reducing wear. The rings also have small channels at the base of the teeth to provide an escape path for any debris that may sneak past the hub seals. These large rings also allowed us to enlarge the hub bearings - we're using big 6902 bearings throughout the hubs to keep them rolling smoothly for a long time to come.
