For road use, 25mm rims provide optimal aerodynamics with modern road tires in the 30-34mm range, increasing speed and reducing rolling resistance.

These rims are also wide enough to support all-road/gravel tires in the 35-45mm range, helping to improve comfort and speed, and reducing the likelihood of flats.

At Woven we still firmly believe in hooked rims for road and gravel use. Although not always necessary as tire sizes go up and pressures come down, we still feel that there's no drawback to having a bead hook - they can provide some extra security for certain applications and allow our wheels to be used with all of your favourite tires.

New for 2026, we're now using a ratchet design for engagement in our Woven hubs. Two large 36-tooth ratchet rings spread pedaling forces over a wide surface area, giving an extra long life. This design also allows us to run large bearings throughout the hubs, making them very smooth and durable.
